All-American Welcome is a time to meet new friends, build community, explore involvement opportunities, and enjoy events and activities as you are welcomed (or welcomed back) to AU. With more than 70 events and activities each fall, you'll find a variety of fun in-person events to you connect with classmates, learn your way around campus and explore DC. There's something for everyone!

Schedule Highlights

We're still building our full schedule, but we are listing just a few of our signature events here!

Families and guests will be able to view events in Engage later this summer, but many are for students only. There are no All-American Welcome events that require parents, siblings or guests to RSVP or register. 

8/21 - 8/23: Explore DC! (new students only, advance registration required)
8/22- 8/23: First Year Assisted Move-in Days. Each student's assigned date/time is posted in their student housing portal.

Join in the Move-in Days festivities, including:

• Campus Resource Fair (all students, families and guests)
• Optional family programs include:
  • complimentary coffee, tea, and tissues with administrators
  • open houses with select offices, tours, and family meet-ups

8/23 & 8/24: Eagle Summit, in-person orientation (required, all first year and new transfer students). Students will participate on either 8/23 OR 8/24 based on move-in date. Students should plan on being in attendance for a full day (breakfast through dinner).

8:45 - 11 a.m. Opening Convocation. New undergraduates assemble on the Quad for an event rich with AU traditions! (new students only - a recording will be made available for families to view after the event)

12 p.m. Taste of Home & Welcome Back BBQ

5 p.m. SUBJam (Welcome Back Concert)

11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Student Involvement Fair. Discover some of AU's many student clubs and organizations.
